Soil sorted out in the ITAD MSW Treatment Centre is converted into nutrient-rich culture medium by a thermophilic aerobic fermentation technique. Soil in the wastes, absorbed large quantities of organic leachates and contains significant amount of organic matters, yet, pathogens, are not suitable for direct use. Thermophilic aerobic fermentation employs high temperature resistant thermophilics to treat this waste stream under controlled conditions suitable to the sterilization of soil and the conversion of organic matters into a nutrient- rich medium for plants. The nutrient-rich soil products are ideal for the use in landscape and horticulture.
